About the role

As our Talent Partner & Systems Builder, you will help shape how Flinn grows from 60 to more than 120 people over the next 15 months.

Working in a People team of three, you will lead hiring initially across engineering and product roles while helping us evolve how we attract, assess, and hire exceptional people.

Many of our best hires come through our network, referrals, and communities. As we expand across Vienna, Berlin, NYC, and beyond, one of the challenges you will help us solve is how to scale that advantage into new markets and talent communities.

We're looking for someone who wants to rethink talent acquisition from first principles: what does hiring look like when start treating it as a product problem? What can you build, automate, or completely replace?

Your Contributions to Our Journey

  • Shape how a fast-growing company builds their talent engine with an opportunity to start from first principles and work with a product approach and experiments to see what brings the most impact.
  • Lead end-to-end hiring across (for now mostly) engineering and product roles.
  • Help us turn our culture, networks, and reputation into a sustainable hiring advantage.
  • Experiment with AI, automation, and new tools to remove repetitive work, improve hiring quality, and build systems that scale. We care far more about the outcome than the tools you choose. Our current stack includes Ashby, Claude, Cursor, LinkedIn, and Juicebox.
  • Use candidate conversations, sourcing, and market research to deepen our understanding of talent markets, organisational design, and how exceptional teams are built. Ensure every search leaves us with a stronger process, stronger network, or better understanding of the market.
  • What You Need to Be Successful

  • Experience hiring technical talent in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Strong sourcing and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and constructively challenging assumptions.
  • Ability to use data, market insights, and candidate feedback to influence decisions.
  • A systems mindset and enthusiasm for improving how things work.
  • Comfort experimenting with AI, new tools, and new ways of working.
  • High ownership and a willingness to move between strategy and execution.
  • Attributes we are looking for

  • Experience hiring senior engineering and other difficult-to-fill roles.
  • A track record of building something, whether a process, community, function, product, or business.
  • Experience outside recruiting is a plus. We value perspectives from product, engineering, operations, consulting, and other problem-solving disciplines.
  • Strong judgment, pragmatism, and a genuine desire to make the system better, not just fill the role.
  • 🇪🇺 At this stage of our company, we can only accept applications from people who are based in Europe with either European citizenship, an active working visa or being self-employed and joining us as a full-time contractor.

We strive to remove barriers, eliminate discrimination, and ensure equal opportunity through our transparent recruitment process. We are open to all groups of people without regard to age, color, national origin, race, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, marital status or any other legally protected characteristic.
